World Discovery is Epcot's gateway to the wonders of space, science, technology, and intergalactic exploration. Situated on the east side of World Celebration, this innovative neighborhood is home to three captivating pavilions arranged in a clockwise layout: Galaxy, Space, and Motion.
(former Universe of Energy Pavilion)
The Galaxy Pavilion, also known as the Wonders of Xandar Pavilion, is where thrill-seekers can embark on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind—an exhilarating enclosed spinning roller coaster inspired by Marvel's beloved superhero team. This pavilion originally debuted as the Universe of Energy Pavilion, paying homage to the fascinating world of energy.
(former Horizons Pavilion)
The Space Pavilion offers guests the chance to experience the thrill of space exploration firsthand with Mission: Space—a centrifugal motion simulator ride that simulates a space flight to Mars and a breathtaking orbit around Earth's surface. Adjacent to Mission: Space is Space 220, a uniquely themed restaurant that simulates dining aboard a space station located 220 miles above Earth. This pavilion originally opened its doors as the Horizons Pavilion, inviting guests to envision the future of space travel and exploration.
The Motion Pavilion is where automotive enthusiasts can put the pedal to the metal on Test Track—a high-speed slot car ride that offers a thrilling glimpse into the world of automobile testing. Inspired by Chevrolet's real-world testing procedures for concept cars, Test Track has been a fan favorite since its debut. The Motion Pavilion has been a cornerstone of Epcot since its inception and has always featured an attraction sponsored by General Motors.
While the World Discovery neighborhood is currently home to these vibrant pavilions, there is also a standing but unused pavilion that once housed the Wonders of Life attraction, hinting at exciting possibilities for future expansion and innovation in this dynamic area of the park.
